bsi 10.0.f
unknown
I cannot find documentation on loading the cyclic data for 10.0.f. in 9 you did maintenance then update. In 10 under system tools is database load. Is this where I update the data? I am now 10.0.e1. Just confused.

I went to System Tools, then Manual Update to browse to the cyclic data file and Process it.

I just applied 10f in test. My steps were:
1. Download the client installer from BSI connect web site and run it to update my client environment.
2. Download the server software from the BSI connect web site.
a. Run the installer on my local computer
b. Copy programs from the server directory that gets created by the installer to the $LAWDIR/bsi directory on the Lawson application server
c. Sign in to LID and run cmptfxora10 to compile the libraries. (We are AIX and Oracle. Your command might be different depending on your environment.)
3. Download the cyclic data file from BSI connect web site.
a. Sign in to Tax Factory client web site that you upgraded in step 1. The URL for the client site changes to include your current version number.
http://server:port/eTF10f/PRD
b. Go to system tools link.
c. Under system tools page, find Maintenance Tools section and choose Manual Update.
d. Browse to cyclic data file and click "Process"
e. Check Maintenance Output pdf for errors.
Good luck! Uploading regulatory bulletins is like uploading the cyclic data file. I download the regulatory bulletin, then go System Tools > Manual Update and process the update.

A question: I was blissfully not involved in our upgrade to 10, so pardon me for the possibly dumb question. I didn't think BSI 10 had a client anymore. I was told that "everything was web-based now", and somehow I assumed that meant no client installs. So, clearly that is not the case, since there is a client download". So, what, on a very general level, is the difference between 9 and 10, if there is still a server piece and a install for each pc??

I asked a BSI Support person this during our last cyclical upgrade on 10. We were installing the client piece on each payroll users PC. But he said just to install the client once (on our server) and then let each user access the URL from the PC's. No more installs on individual PC's. Appears to be working just fine!

It is confusing because when the "client" software is installed on a server and accessed via a web browser. We put ours on our Smart Office server. After we upgrade the client software, we send out the new URL to the users and we don't have to touch their PCs.
The "server" software goes on your Lawson application server.

Ah, got it. I knew in the past that the client was installed on both the Lawson server, and each PC, so it is the PC part that is no longer needed. Okay - that is definitely easier then. Thank you.

How do you upgrade the client for the test environment from 10.0.e to 10.0.f without impacting the production client? I'm not clear how this can be done now that both are running on the same server.

We actually built two environments - one TEST server and one PROD server, anticipating the issue of cyclic upgrades being applied to the client(server) and impacting both environments at once. Not sure you can isolate w/o having two servers.

I have 1 physical Windows server for BSI and have both my DEV (test) and PRD (production) on that server. When you run the client install, there is a point where you can tell the install which environment(s) you want to update. If you only want to update test, you just choose to update test.

Okay, this may be a little of subject, but is anyone running TF10 with Oracle 12?
