Infor requirement to configure user monitoring (9.0.1)

We have been notified by Infor that we need to perform "User Monitor Auditing Configuration". This involves manually updating config files, running ssoconfig, stopping and starting the server - multiple times, and providing audit logs to them on three separate occasions. Has anyone else faced this requirement?

We have and have been told it is a simple process and would not take much time to complete. Not!

1: Depends on you support contract with Infor. You may be required to perform the steps to maintain support. Check with YOUR lawyers.

2: Conversely, if you are referring to the "ET Phone home" app, I don't know why anyone would want to run it and share the results -- it exposes too many attack/vulnerabilities to third parties.

3: And if I'm not mistaken, it causes a noticeable degradation in performance.

Just to put in my two cents..we were requested the same thing. This caused serious issues with our payroll processing - not saying that it was directly tied to payroll, but the user monitoring took up quite a bit of cpu and instead of a payroll job finishing in 8 minutes as an example, it would take an hour or two.

Some needed history. I had successfully installed User Monitoring in our test system but could never get it installed in production (I had a case open with Infor but they closed it because they didn't know how to fix it either.)

With that being said, we were asked to enable User Monitoring in prod and install, cfg and use the Smart Audit OS tool.

I did and, it took down our production system. Our configuration of WebSphere could not handle their tool. Good luck!
