Any Citrix and Visual 7 users out there?
Legacy Contributor
We are having an issue with printing in visual and are running with Citrix Xenapp 6.5. The printers are auto-created and while in Visual if I select another printer to print a document to it still prints to my default printer no matter what. We have tested Citrix outside of Visual using notepad and it works like a charm. Has anybody had issues with this and what did you do to fix it?

Just had this yesterday (Visual 7, terminalserver)....had to set the default printer to the different one the user wanted to print to.

We have also noticed that if you view the report first and then print from the view window it works. This really stinks because Infor won't help because it is terminal server.

We running Visual 7.0.0 on citrix server, do not meet the issue.

What version of Citrix are you running?

We are seeing the same problem on one of two Citrix XenApp6 servers (Windows 2008 R2). One server is at 2008 Service Pack 1, the other does not have any service packs installed. If a user's session is on the server at SP1, this behavior described above occurs.
If I RDP into the server at SP1 and run VM directly, I don't see this issue. Not sure if this info helps anyone.

I have a 6.5 install with 7 and just tested a couple things. Acrobat printing worked (acrobat standard on the client got redirected properly) surprisingly, but printing to a particular printer (non default) didnt seem to work and generated a nice error message. In this case I just added the network printer to the server and printed direct. I would check on the Citrix side to see if a User Policy can make a difference (I am no citrix expert) Universal Printing for example.

Has anyone found a solution for this? Infor Support was able to reproduce this with RDP but when they turned it over to development they can't reproduce.
One thing they did find is that with RDP there is a setting under Local Resources, a check box for Local devices and resources. If you uncheck Printers they no long had this issue.
We are runnig Citrix 6.5 so this didn't apply to us.
