Future-Dated Rehire Actions
I've taken on the task of improving our Rehire process. Specificially, my goal is to make Rehire entry resemble our New Hire process. Our new hires are set up ideally: a preliminary new hire action is done via PA52.4 with a future-dated start date, which allows us to perform on-boarding actions for the new hire (badge, building access, driver access, etc) so they have the resources they need prior to starting. Once their start has been confirmed we perform the rest of the hire actions on PA52.
With rehires, as of now we don't have such a luxury; we have to wait until we have confirmed the rehire has physically started, process the rehire actions on PA52 effective that particular date, and THEN perform the on-boarding actions. This obviously puts a lag on the rehire getting the resources they require, which is an inconvenience not only for the rehire but their supervisor as well.
Long story short, is there any way to process a preliminary rehire action with a future-dated rehire date, and then process the remaining rehire actions once the employee starts? I know nothing future-dated can be processed via PA52, and I don't think PA52.4 would do us any good because we don't want to create a new employee number for a rehired employee (that would be an organizational nightmare). I'm curious to see if anybody out there has a solution. Thank you!
