2013 YE Patches

Has anyone installed the 2013 Year End CTP 97972? It is wanting to do a dbreorg and has a lengthy list of programs that need to be compiled due to changes - not just year end programs. It's wanting to compile some of our main payroll programs - PR140, PR80, PR89, PA100, etc. Typically putting a year CTP on is pretty simple since it is usually isolated to year end programs. But this one touches other programs. How do other organizations handle the testing for such patching on a short timeframe? We typically do parallel testing for these main programs.

What MSP are you on? We did not have any dbreorg when we applied the patches. We are on apps 9.0.1 MSP9

We are on 9.0.1 MSP9 as well. Installed in August 2013. Attached are the files that are being reorged.

We also had to do a dbreorg. We are on MSP 9.0.1 MSP9 and ESP 9.0.1.10.

Teresa, I am assuming you had some of the major programs affected by the patch (PR140, PA100, etc). How does your staff test such patching? Typicaly we do an intensive parallel (with lots of planning) prior to starting. With this being needed for the year end programs and staff being out for holidays this becomes difficult to just fit in on a tight schedule. How are you handling testing there?

We have not tested yet. When Patches affect PR140, PR80 types we do full payroll runs -start to finish. Have you already tested and experienced problems?

OK. I see that 97972 is after the initial download. We did not apply 97972 because it makes changes that do not apply to us. We only installed the inital download. We will get those changes when we go to MSP10.

We do the same as Teresa. Anything that touches PR140, PR132, PR80, PR160, PR197, PR198, we run full test payrolls.

Based on the brief notes provided in the KB article for 97972, the patch to the PR299 appears minimal. We are going to UNINSTALL the CTP and test the PR299 from the Initial CTP to see if it will work out for us without the subsequent CTP (97972) installed. Hoping for the best. The Canada and other state fixes noted do not apply to us as well.

I am with you though regarding YE patches being isolated to YE programs. I have been doing this since 2006 and this is the first time U.S Year End Updates for HR Payroll - (PR year end patches Initial Download or post GA CTP ) that has included non-year end related programs. I just went back through my logs to verify that.

We have installed CTP 97972 in a development environment. Our payroll have tested it and didn't seem to encounter any issues.

Apparently CTP-98260 has been replaced by CTP 98329.
(9.0.1 CTP-98329 KB: 1461350)

I just found this out from support as we were unable to find the CTP 98260. They have not yet updated the Year End CTP document either. Has anyone tried to download the CTP 98329? I can't get it...just doesn't download anything, like there is nothing these.
