Setting up Health Savings Accounts in Lawson
unknown
Our health system is justing starting to look at setting up two HSAs for our next open enrollment period. I am looking for feedback from other health systems on how they have set their HSAs up in Lawson.

This was a bit of a challenge for us, but we made it work.
Health Plan set up under HL plan, no issues
We fund our Employer contribution up front in one payment (no frequency table possible for 1x/year) so our Employer contribution setup under HL plan type with no contribution so we can account for the benefit. Then separately we have a company deduction in PR05/PR14 for each employee that we enter an amt for on PR39 (one time deduction) either at the beginning of the year or on the first check after they are hired. This is somewhat manual (though we do use MS addins to upload the annual amount after open enrollment).
For the employee contribution, I set it up under RS plan type so the employee could elect an amount at enrollment. We allow them to change their contribution anytime they want, but are currently taking these changes on paper as we don't have a great way to allow this via ESS.
I really feel like Lawson needs to address the increasing need for HSA setups. Not a fan of the manual parts of this setup, but we are making it work for now.

We do the exact same thing as Michele's company, including the MS Add-In upload after Open Enrollment. The only issue we find with the one time deduction process is managing the handful of employees who elect to contribute a higher amount at the beginning of the year (presumably to get their set company match amount more quickly). After they max their matches, they re-elect a smaller per paycheck amount. This is very manual, but our payroll specialists keep a list of those employees and do a good job keeping up with it.

We have it also setup as an RS plan. Our employees have to have their HSA account opened before we can take their deductions. We removed the deductioncycle flags with process flow until we receive a record from the vendor. Then use porcess flow to replace the deduction cycle flags for the employee contribution and setup the one-time deduction for the employer
