Taxation on employees traveling across multiple states

Does anyone take advantage of the Lawson cert codes on PR13 to help manage taxation on employees that travel across state lines?

Hi Tricia! Are you talking about situations where the states have reciprocal agreements? I am in Philadelphia and we have employees who live in New Jersey. The state agreements are to withhold taxes in the state where you reside, but Lawson creates tax deductions for both the state of PA and the state of NJ, so to avoid the PA tax from actually being withheld for NJ residents, we set the cert code to "1" for "Certificate on File". I'm in HR so haven't noticed until now the other options about Local or State Courtesy Withholding. Not sure if this helps you at all.
