Security report that lists all roles?

Just started testing security and I have been unable to figure out out to run a report that simply gives a list of all the Roles available...whether or not they have classes assigned to them, or users. I only want a list of all the roles. Is this not possible?

You can use the RoleSecClassReport and don't select any roles, it will return all Roles for each profile. If you run the report as CSV, you can remove the duplicates and clean it up in Excel, but it does lists all roles.

I tried that. But it won't run if I don't select a role. Gives a "Failed" status.

Ah just tried it again...it runs now. I had a problem with our Security setup yesterday where I had imported a load file (that a consultant created for us) and I was trying to run this report, and it kept failing (another one was failing as well). Then I was trying to query a user, and kept getting an error. Went back to the consultant and somehow his load file had removed a rule in the RM role...which he fixed. So that must have been causing this error too. Cool. Glad you mentioned it - I had given up on it. :-)
