ACA Test File

Has anyone by passed sending a test file and just tried to send a production file? I'm getting worried we are running out of time. We have not received our TCC. Can we maybe use 10 employees as a test from our production file?

A couple of things to know: You should not transmit any live data to the test site because it is not secure. The purpose of the test file is to gain approval for your TCC. You can't transmit a production file until your test file has been approved and you have called to have your TCC moved into production, which takes several days.

The IRS requires you to submit a test file before they will move you to their Production system. Once you've completed the application, you should be able to log back on and access your code through the ACA TCC application. I just received my letter Friday and completed the application on 5/23 but I submitted my test file last Monday with the code from the application. I called the IRS and held for approximately 45 minutes to move me to production Monday afternoon. Be prepared to hold for a while and you must have an application signer available to move from test to production.

I'm nervous sending a test file through the only option the IRS is giving me: AATS 2016

Can anyone confirm that this is the correct system to send the test through? It seems that this is the system for my final transmittal, and not the test xml file. Thanks!

Definitely the right place to submit TEST files, with TEST data only.

Thanks, MaryBeth! I saw that as soon as I hit reply! How can I get my BN299 to give me "dummy data" rather than the real data it's spitting out?

There are specific test scenarios you should use to build it in your test system and create the BN299 test file. I only sent 1 fake employee.

SSullins, could you elaborate on "specific test scenarios"? Do you mean that we need to "dummy up" a BN299 so that the XML does not contain real employees? Do we create a fake Resource and only use that one resource for the BN299 Test?

Use this link to access the test scenarios provided by the IRS: www.irs.gov/.../affordable-care-act-assurance-testing-system-information. Click on the AATS Scenario Forms for either 1094B/1095B or 1094C/1095C. I used Scenario 7 which included only 1 fake employee file.

Which prompt do you use when you call the IRS after getting Accepted on your test submission:

#2 for Help with Application for TCC

#3 for help electronically filing the 1095C form.

I have tried to call several times and used prompt 3 but got a message that Due to Call volume my call cannot be processed and to call back later.

I would hate to use the incorret prompt and have to start over again.

Also, is the TCC signer required to be on the call? I am a contact person but not a signer.

I believe prompt #3 is correct.

If you are listed as a contact, that should be fine. The "Responsible Official" is not required for this step.

Prompt #3 was correct. Took 1 3/4 hours to get through. I had to give my full name and job title. I had stated up front I was a Contact person on the TCC. Also had to give company name on TCC along with TCC and Receipt ID.

Now the fun of sending my production file begins I suppose. I have had it ready since last Friday but never had the time to wait for 1 or 2 hours on hold.

Ok, we finally are ready to submit our test and the first error we received is TPE1106 Manifest. Without reading this whole blog, does anyone know how to get past this error?

I'm having issues with the lawson test file. When I run bn990, there's no data and nothing appears on the bn99. I know I'm late in asking this but any help you can provide would be awesome. I'm using scenario 7 for my test.
