ACA How to populate BN27 R5 / R6 from BN255

I am unclear on what values are used from the BN255 output to populate the BN27 fields. Hopefully this isn't a duplicate post. I looked at the KB articles but didn't get much guidance.

My BN255 output is (for January); We are using Safe Harbor 2G (Poverty Level)

January

Initial 123
Part-Time 9
Full-Time 1193
Month-Total 1325

On BN27.1 what would go in the 4 fields for January?

Jan MEC
Jan Count
Jan Total Count
Jan Relief

I believe I figured out everything but the "Relief" field. The 2 choices when I use the "V" selector are A or B.

I have read the KB articles and do not see where A or B are defined. Form and Field help for BN27 are essentially blank.

How did you complete the bn27.1 fields?

From my example above:

Jan MEC 1 - I don't recall exactly how I determined this, but I used 1 for all 12 months.

Jan Count 1193

Jan Total Count 1325

Jan Relief blank - this applies to companies < 100 employees

When you find out, please share. My payroll dept. is at a loss on how to complete the BN27.1 so that the 1094-C will be correct. Why did you put a 1 in the MEC? What does that mean?

The 1 for MEC indicates Minimum Essential Coverage of Yes on the 1094-C part III lines 23-35.

I assumed the A or B were in relation to the type of relief. For instance: we are using the 4980H(b) relief for a non-calendar year plan start date (our plan year begins in October) so I populated Jan-Sept relief fields with a "B". I hope this helps!
