Please forgive me if my wording is not 100% accurate. I am from IT, not HR. A question on this topic was recently posed to me and I didn't have an answer, so I thought I'd post it here and see what others are doing to address it...
Has anybody automated their process for movement of leave balance accruals? Our HR and Payroll folks want to automatically move accruals between Extended Sick banks and PTO banks and asked if we could do so with a process flow. Well, I know, virtually anything CAN be done with process flow, but nobody here is well versed in process flow (IPA). So, I am wondering if there is any other tool or methodology to employ to do so until we can get someone to design a flow in IPA for us. Is there a way to automate this transfer (assuming the criteria is easily defined) at some point in the process, between the running of the LP140 to generate the accruals and the LP197 to close out the cycle?
The specific scenario is that for some of our union employees, when an employee maxes out there Extended Leave bank, the overage gets moved into their regular PTO bank for use within the current year. Presently, it is done manually and as such, may hold up the timing of when they can run the LP197 since it can't be run until after this step is performed.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
