"Forgot Password" functionality on Career Space

We are currently using Talent Acquisition version 10, and we are struggling with how candidates use the forgot password function.

During our testing, what we have found is if the candidate registers, they are not prompted to answer security questions unless they log out and log back in. Therefore for candidates who register and then go straight into applying for jobs, log out, and then go to log back in a week later but forget their password, since they never completed/answered their security questions... they cannot reset or change their password.

We have not identified anyway on the Administration side to reset a candidates password.

How are other facilities handling this? Is there a way for an HR Administrator to reset a Candidates password and I am just missing it? Any help would be GREAT!

We had the same issue. We disabled the Security Questionnaire. (From Password reset policy, uncheck the "Is Security Questionnaire Enabled" box.) We also made it possible for our front line staff to be able to reset password from HR if the candidate was unsuccessful resetting their own password. We did have to create a separate security class that gave them only this functionality and not full-blown access to security settings. If you will send me your email address, I'll be happy to send you our script on password reset.

We also struggled with this when we were on version 10, in our Candidate zip file we changed the link for 'Forgot your password?' to point to the Help page. It would land them directly on the 'Reset a forgotten password' section and in the text of that section we updated it to include an email address for password reset. So that they could easily email us requesting the password be reset.

Thankfully once you move to version 11, the security questions for password reset are required on the registration page. So now we are just dealing with resetting passwords for those that created their account while we were on v.10. Once we get the password reset and they log in the first time to v.11 they are prompted to complete the security questions. So it seems they finally have it worked out in the newest version.

can create security class/role like this and assign to those in HR you want to be able to reset passwords.

And we are now in the cloud and yes, the new 11+ versions force security questions to be answered at time of creation of account. And last month they released a new security role for this.. like the one we created back in 2016
