Partially Accepted File-errors corrected

Our file to the IRS was partially accepted. We corrected the errors in HR13 which were mostly dependent SSN's. We are unsure what we need to do next as far as sending the corrections. Do we send a completely new file or is there a way to pull just the ones we corrected? We have looked through the numerous KB's just released, but it didn't make much sense for our scenario of having a partially accepted file. Did anyone else have a partially accepted file? What are the next steps?

My original "final" file was Accepted with errors (on 3 employee records). We are not self insured and did not send dependents.



I manually generated a file for the 3 problem employees and transmitted that to the IRS as an "Original" file which was accepted.



Looking over the KB articles for creating/transmitting Correction/Replacement/Void files the articles all address "Rejected" files and do not discuss "Accepted with errors" files.



To create my "corrections" file I ran BN299 for 1 of the employees to create a new data file and manifest file, then manually added the other 2 employees by extracting the relevant lines from the original data file, made the necessary name corrections then generated a new checksum for the data file and updated the manifest file as necessary to reflect the new checksum, the number of records on the data file and the byte count of the data file.



As an aside: We have not updated anything in Lawson yet to reflect the employee last names I had to use. Our Lawson system has the last name that appears on the employees' Social Security card, I9 form, W4 form and W2 form and what the employees state they list on their tax returns. I am not sure where the IRS got the name we had to match.
