Ming.le Infor 10 - Closing browser after logging out and system not asking for credential when loggi

We are testing our Infor 10 Upgrade. I am wondering if other companies noticed this issue and if they did anything to fix it. Infor is telling me that it is working as designed.

Issue: Currently, when a user signs out of Ming.le (Infor 10), they receive an Infor Ming.le Sign Out message noting that they 'Must close the browser to complete the sign out process'. If they do not close out of the browser, the sign out is not completed.

We noticed that if the user closed the Infor Ming.le browser and has multiple browsers already open (i.e. Company intranet or another application they are using to her/his job), when the user opens a new browser to log back into Infor, the NEW browser will open without asking for credentials. We tested different scenarios. The only time this doesn't happen is when there are no other browsers open after the user logged out and closed the Infor browser.

This is a concern for us because we have employees sharing computers, especially nurses in their nurse stations, and they will have multiple browsers open at the same time to do their job. If a nurse is looking and his/her pay check information in ESS, logs out and close the Infor browser, another nurse can type or access the Infor URL from the Intranet and access the previous nurse ESS information because it will go back to the previous user without asking for new credentials. This doesn't happen when using just Portal without Ming.le. We tested it without Ming.le install in 10.0.

Hi, We had been experiencing this issue too. But we just upgraded from 10.0.6 to 10.0.8 (environment) along with Mingle and LawsonS3 for Mingle (or whatever it's called), the issue went away. We weren't sure whether the fix was the ESP or Mingle but we were just happy!

The exact behavior seems to be different depending upon which browser is used. For instance, using Internet Explorer 11, with multiple tabs where the user is logged into multiple on-line systems, a user logout out of Ming.le disconnects and invalidates the logins on all other windows. This does not happen with Chrome or Firefox. So try other browsers than the one that you are using and see what happens. You may have a situation where the behavior that you describe is browser-dependent.

We are on

ESP 10.0.8

Ming.le 11.1.8

and the issue exists with that combination. If you can provide which Ming.le release you're on that would help.

P.S. We too need to support IE11. We don't have a choice even though my personal browser preference is Chrome. What's funny and classic Infor is that I can't reply to your Community post using IE but can using Chrome!! Too funny!

I think this might have more to do with how IE works now then a Ming.le issue. IE will share the same session across numerous browser windows unless you specifically tell it to "start a new session". That session will share all the same cookies and other session state data. Its why you see banking sites say "close all browser windows" after you log out. The really tricky part is if you do close all your IE windows sometimes that isn't enough because other Microsoft programs like Outlook, Word, etc can create an IE session for some of its features.

Update:

I opened an Infor ticket and made out a case for them to get a solution. Infor listened to my request :-) and wrote this up as a P1 with Development. Development resolved it and the fix was just created. It is available with LSF-10.0.8 via JT-943958. Our IT team will review this JT and determine the impact as we are in doing Integrated testing for the upgrade now. I believe we have LSF 10.0.9 so I asked Infor if they will create a JT for this release. No respond yet.
