Benefit Checklist

I will be setting up our Benefits this year and have not really done this type of set up before, I was wondering if anybody has a checklist as to what programs we need to access to build as well as year end information about getting benefits pointed to the new year. Any information would help.

It depends on what/if you are making changes and how some of your existing benefits are configured. Do you have EE HL wellness rates? Most of the time, you just need to add new effective dated contribution records and then run a BN105 at the time the new rates are effective. This is very general.

All of our new Benefits take affect on January 1 2017, so in December on the last week you would run the BN105 to change the plans? Our Open Enrollment begins on Oct 17th through the 28th, and new plans have to be set up then, but they won't necessary be tied to the employees until you run the BN105 for the new plans?

Are you using OE through Lawson? The same groups they belong to at OE will cause them to see the rates for Jan 1 effective date provide the Jan 1 date is on your OE rules (bs01). We do our OE with pended records and don't run our BN105s until after we've loaded the pended records.

No we don't use Lawson for OE, but I think that we have to have the plans built and tested, before the compnay sends us the file so that we can use the BN531 to import them correct? Once that happens I think we run the BN105 to update the plans?
