Files getting erased(!) when running DOU100 -- any solutions yet?

I'm wondering if anyone has yet found the cause for FACTS data files mysteriously (and intermittently) getting erased when DOU100 is run? It seems to be specific to FACTS 7.8. It does not matter if FACTS is on Windows or Linux. It seems to erase mainly AP but sometimes AR and IC.

There's an Infor KB article about it that remains unresolved (KB 1659533 ).

We have found that if 2 files have the same OBDC alias, caused when using the DO copy, one of the files gets deleted from the system. We noticed this starting at FACTS 7.7.

We now always make sure that the ODBC aliases are never duplicated.

For one client, Ace Supply, before the system was in production, the run of DOU100 deleted some files. I found one duplication of the aliases, PX_APVEND_COMPANION, used for files APVEN1 and PXVEND. Perhaps these file deletions are triggered by an alias duplication.

Thank you Bill and Gerald. I see that KB 1659533 has been updated with Gerald's patch, and that KB 1008040 has been updated to say, "DOU100 issue due to no check for duplicate alias name in File Layout Entry (DOE110)." But as I just wrote to FACTS Support, DOE110 =is= checking for duplicate aliases, since at least 7.7. The problem is that a merge of SMFLUP doesn't. SMFLUP has mods being brought forward and DOFILH records are typically not called up in DOE110. I have been able to duplicate this in the 9.0.2 demo.

It does not make sense to me why DOU100, or the PxPlus data dictionary update objects, are even erasing the file that it's about to add to providex.dde/.ddf. I realize that DOU100 also embeds the data dictionary into the file but still, why would it delete the file it's about to embed?
