How do I correct an employer name in the ALE Group?

I have an ALE group with 6 different entities. One of the entities is setup with their "doing business as" name instead of their legal name. The DBA name is what is on the process level in Lawson so I have to override that with the legal name for ACA filing. I see how I can do that on the BN27.1 now but I how do I fix it in the ALE group? I'm able to correct it on the 1094-C for that particular entity but I also need to fix it on the 1094-C for all the other entities that reference the ALE group. Otherwise, I get a TIN validation error when I file those other entities. Appreciate any advice anyone can provide!

As much as we hated to do this, we changed it on the HR01 briefly to run our BN299's and then changed it back. Timing has to be carefully planned when doing this.

We have an entity with a very long official name. After running the BN299 I opened the xml file using notepad++ , located the name on the XML file changed it then saved the file. I plan on doing that next year as well. You have to be careful not to mess the file though.

Thank you both! I actually did the XML/notepad change on the one entities' original file since it was initially rejected. I was just hoping Lawson had it fixed now so I wouldn't have to do that on all the files.

You can go into ACA Reporting Entity Information (BN27.1), pull up the Reporting Entity that needs the name change. Select Topic: R1 - ALE Member Info to enter a business name (Business Name 1 is at the end of the list of data items) for the reporting entity/ALE Member up to 60 characters.

Hi Amy! I did make that change and when I run the BN299 for that entity, it shows correctly. It is when I run the BN299 for the other ALE entities that I have the problem. The 1094-C, line 37, is still showing the DBA name instead of the override name I entered on BN27.1.
