Ldapbind

We are currently on Lawson LSF 10.X and are bound to our Active Directory. We have a new Active Directory domain that we need to bind to and are not sure how to do that. Do we have to do thru the ldapbind process again or is there a way to just repoint Lawson to the new domain?

Hi Todd,

You can do either way - - sort of. Going through the ldapbind process again is simple as it 'remembers' all the values that are currently used. You can also export the service from ssoconfig, modify it (to update the server:port) and then re-import that. The nice thing about ldapbind is that, the first thing it does is make a backup of services/identities - - just in case. We've done this many, many times without issue. One warning: Be sure you're going up against the global catalog port when binding or users might experience slowness logging in.

Thats what I need to know. Thanks. We will probably go with the ldapbind process. I assume you did this during off hours?

Absolutely because this requires a restart of Lawson. By the way, be careful if you're binding to an SSL controller/port and be sure to add the LDAP cert along with root and any intermediate to the various keystores (WebSphere, Jave). If you're not binding to SSL then that's even simpler.
