HR13 / BN32.1 Dependent Coverage

Can anyone share with me how you are entering in the end date for dependents. We currently go into HR13 and change the Medical Flag to "N", but there's no date attached to it so I am having trouble pulling onto a report, especially if there is no change to their payroll deduction.

Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated.

What about in HR13.1 - Benefit Analysis - Effective date - Create Transactions - HIPAA. Not sure but its a thought.

It depends. We would start a newly effective dated benefit record and add the covered dependents. This would place an end date on the existing benefit and apply that stop date to all enrolled dependents.

We also do the same as Margie. On the BN32 start a new effective dated benefit and add the covered dependents. This would place a stop date on the other dependents. We do this for all our plan changes. Helps us with tracking and audits.

For our medical, dental and vision plans our dependent children have system generated stop dates given the eligibility rules. You can also over ride the stop dates or you can put a stop date on the dependent on the dependent on the BN32 and run the BN321 then all your stop dates pull into that report. We control all eligibility based on the rules of the plans and the BN32. We do not use the Hr13 to control this.
