Cloud User Setup

We are moving to the Cloud.  I am familiar with setting up a user on premise.  I am trying to figure out the equivalent steps needed to set up the environment identity in the cloud.  What are the steps needed?

This depends upon what your Cloud environment will be. If you're being hosted by another organization, and your setup is different from ours, I can't speak to that. In my case, my organization moved "to the cloud" but it basically works as simple remote hosting. Instead of the servers being in the next room, they're somewhere "out there", over 400 miles away as the electron flies. Our network experts brought the new servers into our domain, made sure that there are appropriately-configured DNS servers, and after that it's just like it was before, but with a different server name. Now I set up users the same way as before. Of course, I am always careful with correct domain names, as we are using MSAD.



In my opinion, the term "The Cloud" is just another modern sales buzzword. We used to call the exact same thing Remote Hosting. For decades, diagrams that showed networked connections showed the network as a cloud. Then the marketeers got involved and started calling networked connections, "The Cloud". [The crowd goes, "Oooh! Aaah!"] With Lawson systems, it's always been 'remote' to me. Whether the servers are in the next room or a thousand miles away, it's the same setup with LSA. Just a different server name to connect to, that's all. 'Nuff said.
