Printing Issues from HandHeld

We have Motorolla MC55A handhelds, and we are having some issues when the clerks go in and try to issue from the Handhelds nothing prints off. I have checked the settings in MSCM and they appear to be set up correctly, compared them to others that were working. I have also added that printer on the MSCM server as well as the Lawson server, checked there default printer in Lawson Security and that is set to this printer as well. We did have little network maintenance that we switched nodes a couple of weeks back, and ever since then they have not be wanting to print off. I have been working with INFOR on this issue and we turned on DEBUG mode on the server and no luck. Does anybody have any other ideas of what could be causing the issue or do we just need to re-boot the MSCM server?

Is the issue user specific? You said that it works on some handhelds but not others. Could it be the user and not the handheld? We don't have R&D enabled but if I remember right, when you print from IC21, each user needs an IC244 job (named IC244IC21) set up. Are these set up for and configured to print to the designated printer? I'm not even sure if this is true for issuing from the handheld but I'm just throwing the idea out there.

They use to print for each user, but now they don't since we did some network matin. and switched over to a different node to update some fireware on the orginal one. I have checked their default printer in Portal and as well in Securty. I even set up the new printer in prtgrpdef in LID under the Lawson user and the users it is asigned to. I wonder if there was a process that is still hung out there when we did the switch?

Oh ok, none are printing now but they did prior to the network change. Have you checked the queue to see if it's down? We're on unix and it seems whenever IT does anything that affects a Lawson printer the queue goes down or it shows it's up but none of the files are moving through the queue. We just stop and restart the queue.

Hi,

We just had an issue with our end users printing from our handheld. We had to ask Infor to login to our LSAPPS and MSCM servers to have the print spooler restarted. After that, all documents for the day (pick tickets and delivery tickets) printed out as expected including the ones thought to be lost during the problem.

Could you possibly get the service that they re-started for the print spoolers?

Hey, we just had to have the spooler for each printer loaded on the lsapps server and the mscm server. There is a "folder" per say that houses your loaded printers, I believe they just have to login to the servers and find each printer and restart the spooler. Does that help?

If not, can you further define what you mean by service?

I actually just stopped and re-started the websphere application on the MSCM server and that seemed to have fixed the issue, they are now printing off again.
