GL Report with Drill down capabilities

Looking for a report of GL activity by GL number with the ability to drill down to the source of the entry. Has anyone created or know how this can be done?

I've done this, initially using a number of SQL queries but now consolidated into one SQL view. The main difficulty is that the detail of GL transactions can be spread across a number of different tables, depending on what data you're looking for. A good starting point is the JOURNAL_DIM table which covers the majority of transactions but some of the data is summarised and if you want to get to - for example - reference fields at a detailed line level you need to go to line detail tables of which there are many.
