PR530 Error - Company does not exist, Lawson 10

We are in the middle of upgrading to Lawson 10 and are having a critical issue with the PR530. We updated the format to be in line with the PR530 file layout but when running the PR530 it begins to run and starts to create a batch on PR37 but then the full file errors out. The Error Report lists each employee number with the message of "Company does not exist". We have opened an incident with Lawson but so far no resolution. Our I.S. department has been reviewing the format and trying various modifications but we continue to get the same exact error. Has anyone experienced this or had similar issues? If so any advice is appreciated!

Pull up your import file in a file editor (like Notepad++) and turn on special characters. Make sure there isn't any extraneous characters in the data in the Company column.

We had the exact same issue. There were two fixes: Had to update PR530 with CTP110868/KB1708101; AND had to change the sort order of the records in the PRTRCSV -- even though we'd been using the existing format and sort order for more than ten years (since Lawson v8). Hope this speeds things up for you. This is direct message from the IXS consultant, Brooke Ellison, who worked our case:

Yes, the sort order for the PR530 is extremely important. The file must be sorted by Company, Batch and Employee where Employee needs to be in numerical order (if it falls in the same company/batch).

This actually isn't something new but has been a requirement of PR530 for a very long time. If you've had success in the past without sorting in this order I am not sure how you were getting around that.

Not sure about the CTP, but we had the same issue with sorting... and had also been using this without the sorting for almost ten years.

THANK YOU TraciP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our sort order was already good, so our I.S. department applied the CTP and our PR530 now works!!!!!!!! Who knew a PR530 could bring so much joy to a department :-)
