IPD Install

I am trying to install IPD. I loaded Strawberry Perl. When I run the IPD install, I am missing FileSecurity.pm

Error: Can't locate Win32/FileSecurity.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Win32::FileSecurity module) (@INC contains: C:/Strawberry/perl/site/lib C:/Strawberry/perl/vendor/lib C:/Strawberry/perl/lib .) at (eval 2) line 22, <> line 129.
Error: BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 2) line 22, <> line 129.

How do you get around that?

I would uninstall Strawberry Perl and use Active State Perl instead. I think you will have less trouble.

Good morning Angela/Keith, I think Active State may require a license. If you are using Strawberry Perl due to licensing concerns ... you should be able to get the IPA Designer to work with Strawberry Perl.

Here is what I did to get Strawberry Perl to work with the 10.1.1.48 designer:

After installing Strawberry perl, you will need to install some additional perl modules. From a command prompt run the following commands:

1. cpan App::cpanminus

2. cpanm Win32::FileSecurity

3. cpanm Win32::NetAdmin

4. cpanm Win32::Shortcut

NOTE: If you run the cpan command and receive the following error: "No perl script found in input". Then you may need to manually install the Perl Modules. Manually installing modules...

1. Navigate to http://search.cpan.org/

2. Search for Win32::FileSecurity in Modules

3. Download Win32-FileSecurity-1.09.targ.gz

4. Use a 3rd party tool like 7-zip; extract the Win32-FileSecurity.1.09.tar file out of the Win32-FileSecurity.1.09.tar.gz

5. Use a 3rd party tool like 7-zip; extract the Win32-FileSecurity1.09 Folder out of the tar file extracted in #4

6. Open a command prompt window and cd to the Win32-FileSecurity1.09 folder

7. Run the following command: perl Makefile.pl

8. Run the following command: make

9. Run the following command: make install

Repeat steps 2 through 9 for Win32::NetAdmin and Win32::Shortcut

When these steps are done ... you should be able to install the IPD without further issue.

Having PERL_HOME defined also helps, preferably as a system variable.
