1095-C Forms for 2016 Reporting

Is anyone aware of any changes to the format of the 1095-C forms for 2016 reporting or changes in the Lawson BN programs to create and print the forms. I haven't seen any KBs indicating changes. Just want to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I saw something about a year-end release for ACA that will be out early Dec that should include any changes for the 2016 reporting. Keeping my fingers crossed it goes more smoothly than the 2015 reporting since we the deadline to have the forms to employees will be 1/31/17.

The Master KB 1650062 was updated with the changes to the CSV file. I also asked Infor if the Master KB would continue to be used for 2016 reporting and they said yes.

There is minor changes for 2016 reporting, we are working on updates to the Master ACA KB 1650062:

1. 1094-C Changes - Line 22, box B is designated “Reserved.” The Qualifying Offer Method Transition Relief is not applicable for 2016.

2. 1095-C Changes

A. Offer Codes

o 1I – Qualifying Offer Transition Relief 2015 – changed to Reserved

o 1J – New Offer Code for Minimum essential coverage providing minimum value offer to employee and at least minimum essential coverage conditionally offered to spouse; minimum essential coverage not offered to dependents.

o 1K – New Offer Code for Minimum essential coverage providing minimum value offer to employee; at least minimum essential coverage offered to dependents; and at least minimum essential coverage conditionally offered to spouse.

B. Employee Cost reported for new Offer Codes; 1J & 1K

C. Safe Harbor Code 2I – Non-Calendar Year Transition Relief changed to Reserved

3. 1095-B Change

Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) changed to Reserved

4. 1095-B CSV File Changes

• Add Year field

• Add Department field

• Add User Level field

• Employee & Covered Individuals Last Name field size changed to 20

• Employee & Covered Individuals First Name field size changed to 20

• Move Employer Sponsor Coverage section to end of file

5. 1095-C CSV File Changes

• Add Year field

• Add Department field

• Add User Level field

• Change Plan Start Month to Alphanumeric

• Change Employee Cost to Alphanumeric

• Employee & Covered Individuals Last Name field size changed to 20

• Employee & Covered Individuals First Name field size changed to 20

6. XML File Changes

• IRS removed from ForeignProvinceNm tags

• IRS removed from ForeignPostalCd tags

• Employee & Covered Individuals Last Name field size changed to 20

• Employee & Covered Individuals First Name field size changed to 20

• Business & Person Name Control Text Added

• Software ID updated to 2016 registered ID

The IRS has made some changes to the files that need to be submitted. You can find more detail on the IRS website. The "AIR Webinars" are good to attend, or to at least review the documentation.

Does anyone know if the BusinessNameControlTxt field in the XML file needs to be unique? We have 3 different Business Names that start with "Blessing"... and the BN299 is putting BLES in the BusinessNameControlTxt fields for all 3 of these ALEMemberGrp's. If they must be unique, where is this overridden?
