Adding comment for receiving

We have an item built in our item master that, whenever ordered, we also receive a component product that comes with it at no charge. Receiving calls the buyer each time questioning why we received it. Is there a way to add a comment to the L# that would show up for receiving letting them know that component XXXXX is part of L#?

I don't think any comments will show on the receiving screen to give your staff a heads up when something like this is received. Our staff just checks the vendor cat number that comes up in PO30 to make sure it matches the packing slip so even adding something to the first line description wouldn't guarantee that they'd see it. How about adding the component item to the PO as a no-charge special with description "Compnent to L#XXX"?
