IC130 Nightly Auto Run

Hi,

Are there any facilities out there that have a recdef schedule setup in LID to run the IC130 (General Ledger Posting) on a nightly basis? Currently, we have it setup to run on the last day of each month but our finance and purchasing teams have requested to have this job run nightly.

Since this job is based off of a specified date within the form itself we're unsure of how to effectively do this without creating a separate job for each day and then assigning a unique schedule to each job. Has anyone else found a better way to do this?

We run ours nightly. We use IPA to set the appropriate date, update the job and then submit the job.

We run it nightly with the post date being the last day of the month. That way we only have to change the job parameters once a month.

We run nightly, but we have the date set as the last day of the calendar year. That way we pick up any items that may have had the date fat-fingered.

You can set the date out as far as you want. The date on IC130 isn't the date the transaction will be posted to the GL, that is set at the time the IC document is released. It's setting the farthest date out you want to capture inventory transactions. The GL date defaults to today's date but like Tracy said, if for some reason someone changes it you can capture anything that was fat fingered months or years out. Our nightly run is set out to 12/31/2099.

I agree with the 2099 year. I've seen dates fat-fingered out decades from present. I thought I was hallucinating the first time I saw that, but no, I was in my right mind, that kind of input is allowed.
