Payroll guide help. New to Lawson

Hi All,

I am new to Lawson and am following the Infor payroll guide to learn and gain hands-on Infor Lawson Payroll. I have created a Step and grade schedule (PR16.1) and then I was using Step And Grade Schedule Listing (PR216) for related reports and Inquiries. There it asked for a job name, but none are there. Am I too early into the Reports thing? (Page 48 in Infor Payroll guide 2016). Can anyone help me in this regard and guide me in the learning process?. Thank you very much, I appreciate your help. You will need to create jobs in the reporting and updating forms (such as the 1XX and 2XX forms). You can use something as simple as PR216 and then give it a description, then select your company and the other parameters you want. Then click Add - this adds the job to your queue (but not to anyone else's). Once you add a job, you can submit it. Once it's been submitted, you go to your print manager and can inquire until it shows up. Each power user will have to define his/her own jobs. This is the very basic process.

Thanks for your reply Jenn. What are the codes I need to use to create jobs? Sorry for asking, I am new to Lawson and am very keen to learn.

There are no codes on this form per se, but rather parameters. You can give any job name you want, and any description you want. Then for the PR216 in particular, you will pick a listing either of the schedule itself, or the employees who have that schedule. Below is a screen shot of my PR216, listing a particular schedule.

In my case, I want a listing of a schedule itself, from a particular date (the date range). If you are using V10 and try to add a job and are missing information, the status bar on the bottom will alert you that you are missing information. You can also use Form Help (the ? icon near your search bar) for more detailed information. Oftentimes, Field Help (found near Form Help) walks you through what the field needs or what the values are.

In short, most of the Lawson reports/forms are self-defined, and you have to tell them what to return to you. I suggest you play around in your TEST environment before submitting update forms.

Thanks so much Jenn. I only have access to the TEST/Non Prod environment. I will try and share the outcome with you. I have to create one more schedule with different dates and try adding the Job name just by entering "XYZ" and Click on Add ('click to initiate form action add')

I have problems creating step and grade schedules, well I could create it but couldn't

(a) create a step and grade schedule from shell.

(b) mimicking an existing step and grade schedule

(c) mimicking and updating an existing step and grade schedule.

(d) Updating an existing schedule

(e) Copying an existing step and grade schedule

I think I am doing something wrong in the parameters, create schedule and update schedule sections in PR116.

Can anyone help me in this regard and guide me in the learning process?. Thank you very much, I appreciate your help. Thanks
