Report Properties

We have recently upgraded and have noticed a problem where the Report Properties from an existing job are defaulting to newly added jobs, with no intentional intervention. Anyone have any problems with this, we can duplicate the issue, just wondering how we missed it.

Which jobs?

Doesn't matter which jobs. We have been from WH130 to IC222 and it will copy the report options.

OK. Just curious because I use mainly RW100 and GL series reports and have not noticed the problem. Thanks.

if you have an existing job, you are good but if you are adding a new one after you have inquired on a job that has the printer, etc defined in Report options, the new jobs are created with the report options of the previous. Just noticed this issue since upgrading this weekend.

By "Report Properties" - are you referring to use of Smart Reports? ... curious because we're about to upgrade, but we don't use Smart Reports, so would like to confirm that this is not something that we need to be concerned with. Thanks!

This is just for your standard batch reports. We define our output using the Report Options button on the job that we are going to process. For example IC222, submit button, reports button, job scheduler and print manager. We use the reports button as options to send to a printer, another user, etc. when the job is submitted, rather than having to go to a print manager to print. These are report options are being duplicate when a user adds a new job when having inquired and navigating from an existing job.

Before upgrade would the properties just be blank after adding a new job?

I am not able to get to production but yes, blank for the printer and the method of distribution would not be selected.

yes - v9.0.1 (our current prod) - new report, even after inquiring on an existing report, the Reports button does not contain any data other than the default path and file name.

v10.0.7 app/v10.0.9 lsf - if you inquire on one job, then add another, the report destination information: Rept Mrg, Dist Group, Print - will carry over from the job that you last inquired on.

Thankfully, we use this functionality minimally, and in the cases where we use it, users constantly forget to update this data, so this change is a good thing. (sorry) The path and file name are not copied over from the job that was inquired on - this is a VERY good thing.
