Hello all, First off, this is a sharing post and not a question since, over time, I've seen quite a few folks ask about this and we're now successfully dealing with it.
Topic: Customizing the IPA Inbasket Landing page (the page that a user sees when they're in Portal/Mingle and click BookmarksInbasket<data area>
When we first went to v10 our users (Managers and HR folks who support the managers) were quite disappointed by how 'complex' the inbasket became. It went from showing a user simply the work that they had to their having all these options to see their Actions, Proxies, Work, Tasks, etc.,. We asked around and, I think, because of the newness of this to so many, no one (that we could find) was doing anything to customize the inbasket landing page.
Summary: It's *very* doable and actually quite straightforward. It's a combination of a number of things which I'll now bullet:
- Landing Page - In Rich Client<data area>User ConfigurationUsers<find a user> and open - Play around with the "Lawson for Mingle" settings. For example, you can select "My Work" as the Inbasket Link type and this will make their work appear when they go into Inbasket. Details are in the IPA Administration Guide.
- Custom Inbasket Landing Page - You can create your own if you'd like!! Instructions for doing that are in the above guide in the section, "Creating Customized Web10x Pages". In here it shows you how to create your own and then what you might want to do to customize it. It's really cool and doesn't require a ton of HTML5 or JavaScript knowledge but just some basics.
- Modifying the Menus that users see in their Inbasket. You may do the above to simplify their landing page but then you'll need to get rid of the Menus that appear on the page (My Tasks, My Work, etc). Use Config Console to remove these. It's so simple! See Config Console User Guide, Page 12 (Menus).
(Note here: There are menus items which go across the top of the page but then links (icons) of the same name that are on the page.
It might *seem* a bit overwhelming but it's not too bad at all once you familiarize yourself with the tools/options.
Give a holler if you have questions. (No protests/complaints, please, as I'm only trying to help others! But feel free to add corrections though.)
A HUGE thanks to Infor IPA Support for their assistance too!! They rock!!!
