IC59 Create Label Entry Setup

Hello - I was hoping someone could help us understand the process for setting up and using IC59 for patient charge labels to be created. I have followed all of the steps in KB article 1194556 (see attached), but something still isn't right. At most I've seen a couple of items drop into the list, but then they disappear on their own.

Does anyone else do this? If not, how are you tracking what items to print a charge lable for? Thank you.

We use a product called NiceLabel for all of our labels, patient charge, bin labels, par carts, etc. It prints a put away label for inventory items and that label indicates if the item needs to have patient charge stickers applied. If it does then it goes to an area to have those put on before the items are put in to inventory.

Thank you, @patrick-droste . How does NiceLabel know when to print the put away label? Is it manual, or does Lawson send the print command?

If it does need a patient charge sticker, are those printed manually by item and quantity or is there a system feed?

For the receiving labels, NiceLabel has a "watcher" function. We use process flow to put a receiving file in the directory being watched to trigger the labels when the PO30 is released.

For the charge labels, those are printed on demand by the user applying the stickers. They scan a bar code on the receiving sticker that populates a form with the Lawson item number and number of labels needed then then triggers the print. We considered having them print upon receipt too but opted to go this route for simplicity... No need to worry about keeping the labels together with the product or about matching the stickers up with the items later.

We use this IC59/IC599 process to produce the file and then use Nice Label to generate our labels. Only the user that processes the receiver sees the item(s) in IC59. These items typically remove only after running IC599, because some our users will forget to run the job and the next day or longer they'll run IC599 and get more labels then anticipated.

We've also incorporated this process with our 856s so the process is automated and the PC labels are waiting for our users at a specific time. Let me know if there are any questions.
