MANIFEST-025 Error

Tried to submit 2016 data but my files were rejected. Has anyone received the error below? I have a couple of option but I just want to make sure I am not thinking outside the box.

Manifest 'ChecksumAugmentationNum' must match the IRS-calculated 'ChecksumAugmentationNum' value of the transmission

I have not submitted a file for 2016 yet, but I've seen one internet posting stating that the hex characters a-f must be lower case.

Also, just to be sure - you haven't changed anything in the XML file before submitting, have you?

I got that same message last week. Finally today I used this site:http://onlinemd5.com/ It gave me a totally different checksum code than what was in my manifest so I copied it into the manifest and sent it. My files still rejected but not due to the checksum.

If you are using any tolls to transfer your file before sending it to IRS, make sure the transfer type is set to Binary. Your file size must match what you have in manifest file

I did finally download an MD5 checksum tool that gave me a totally different checksum code, resubmitted and the files were accepted. Thank you all!
