Prior work history

Where do you tract prior work history? We are using the PA19 to track the latest job on hire. We are doing a market adjustment based on years in a job code. Is there a place to track this information besides the PA19? We have internal transfers from LNA to RN and do not want to adjust rates based on LNA experience/ history.

Did you look at assignment date on PA13. You can use that to track when they start a new position. That became available in more recent years . I forget when exactly. Another way to get at the information would be to extract when the change was made in the PAEMPPOS table by comparing record values.

PAEMPPOS and PA13 will show distinct effective dates when anything on the position master PAPOSITION record changes, even though the employee is still in the same position. Provided you are keeping history on field numbers 19 (Job Code) and 126 (Position), you can use the HRHISTORY beg_date and a_value. Restrict to pos_level = 1 if you only want or need to see primary position. PA340 allows some selection by fields or use SQL if you can

SELECT employee,beg_date ,a_value

FROM hrhistory

WHERE company = <your company>

AND employee = <your employee>

AND fld_nbr IN (19,126)

and pos_level = 1

That is true but you can utilize the assignment date for when the employee starts the new position and the assignment date will not change until you change it. Even if you do get a new position, you must add the date.

We created a Experience Date user field that we use for market adjustments. If we hired someone today that had 5 years of experience, we would set their Experience Date field to 03/14/2012.
