Limit Accounts in RQC

Is there a way to hide certain accounts in RQC? This is to not allow the users topic those accounts - like salaries etc..

On the GL side, you can restrict accounts by system code. We did this with revenue accounts because RQC users were frequently selecting the first item in the list, thereby charging expenses to revenue. You can do this in GL00, by account or in GL20, by Acctg Unit and account. The system codes you list are the ones that will be allowed to see/use those accounts.

We adjusted the RQ submodule view for accounts. Then changed RQC to use that custom view.

Make a new key / super key under latools for the new account view. Adjust, if necessary, .sr and/or .or rules. Adjust RQC screendef.js to use new key / super key. Refresh RQC via utilities and IOS cache. Depending on how easily websphere refreshes, or not, you may have to wait your cycle time, up to 15 minutes.

MaryBeth - are you able to provide any more detail on the method you suggested? I don't have access to GL forms, but I had someone pull it up today and it wasn't immediately obvious where/how this would be limited by system code. I would very much like to pursue this option.

GL00 (this will set this for the account, regardless of what accounting unit it is tied to):

(remember that if you don't see 'buttons' mentioned, you could be restricted from the screen by security)

click on the accounts button (GL00.3).

on the specific account that you want to restrict, click on the More button (GL00.4)

on the Main tab, set Restrict = Y and click change.

click on the Systems button on the Main tab (GL03.5)

Here is where you "add" the system codes that should have access to post to this account.

click on the Accounts button (GL20.2)

on the specific account that you want to restrict, click on the More button (GL20.3)

on the Subsystem tab, set Restrict Systems = Y and click change

click on the Systems button on the Main tab (GL03.6)

Here is where you "add" the system codes that should have access to post to this accounting unit/account combination.

You should be able to upload this if you are making mass changes - I haven't done that in a long time, so I couldn't give you quick and easy details.

Looks like you may also be able to use GL100 for a mass change for this. Again - can't give you quick and easy info, but I would STRONGLY recommend some testing before doing this is prod.
