Portal Role Welcome Message from v9 - where is it in v10?

There is nothing in v10 Portal that indicates the user that is logged in, or what product line the user has logged in to. In v9, we use the Portal Role Welcome Message to do this, and also customize the wording to make the difference between test and prod more prominent. How is this being addressed in v10? Attaching a document to more clearly show what we are looking for.

Have you tried using Preferences/User Options/Check "Show Product Line in Page Header"? We're using Portal thru Mingle.

There isn't an option for forcing it, but there is a user option to show the product line in the screen header. So you end up with something like "Employee (HR11.1) - PROD9" in the blue bar.

For the part about the person logged in, I think the only place that shows is in the ming.le framework. It shows the user account logged in using the Sharepoint menus in the upper right corner. I assume they didn't add this to portal since they don't intend portal to be used standalone.

When you are on the Portal screen, Choose Bookmarks > Lawson Administration>Role Manager. Each Portalrole is displayed. Open the Portalrole and under Options Select Yes for Show Product Line in Page Header.

hmmm... thank you... hoping someone has something better... here's a screen shot of our v9 test. The "in your face" lettering makes it quicker/easier to recognize exactly what environment you're in. When you're in support and constantly bouncing between the two environments, the (frequently hidden) PROD in the screen header is not very useful.

I believe there is a way to change the background colors per environment to help identify where you are logged in. I don't believe Infor built any other ways to identify environments.

Using some information from an old webinar (by Hans, I think), I changed the ribbon color to red for the Test environment. The prod line is displayed via standard functionality settings. This is what our v10 Test environment looks like:

I checked with the Portal developers and once you get to Portal v10.1 you can use the themes along with the accent color options which are part of the standard delivery. To see how this looks, check out the tech blog video on this topic: technology-blog.infor.com/.../

Test could be set to one Theme and Color combination and prod to another.

Thanks, Don... unfortunately, we're about to upgrade to 10.0.9 and I don't expect 10.1 to follow closely as we are working on GHR implementation. All of my other changes went through as expected... just couldn't get the header background to change.

Hello - Upgrading to Portal 10.1 is not a full LSF upgrade if you are already on LSF 10.0.9. See: technology-blog.infor.com/.../

We display the productline name by using Preferences/User Options/Check "Show Product Line in Page Header.

In addition I also, have this customization, to change the color in lawform.css. Search for span.inforDataLabel. Comment this out - color: #13a3f7; Add color: black;font-weight: bold;

Hi Sreedevi, we used to change the color of the productlines when we were on V9, and I really miss that in V10. Are you saying that this can still be done in V10? If so, could you please share th path to lawform.css? Thank you!

yes, we can still do this. The lawform.css file is in $WEBDIR/lawson/portal/forms. If you still have further questions, support can help you. I got the guidance from support.
