GL292 taking a 'LONG' time

Good afternoon,

We are trying to process the Balance Sheet (v9 and v10) for a large company, which has approximately 4000 accounts and 25000 level1s.

To create the report takes approximately 9 hours to process; does anyone have any suggestions to reduce time taken

Some things you might try on the tech side are: recompile the GL292 or consider adding a .cfg (config) file for GL292. We have done both for certain jobs that run long and it has helped reduce run time.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have tried both of these, and it didn't make the slightest of differences. I think I'll just have to 'grin and bear it'.

Then the only option is to look at parameters and make sure they are really what you need. We only run balance sheet at the company level on the Individual Reporting tab and not at any level below that (summary or posting accounting unit). We do not put anything in on the Organization tab. That may be the different between our run times and yours.

We have had a lot of problems with both RW reports and GL95 inquiries since the upgrade. Most issues reside in level groups so it may be the way you are running the GL292. We haven't seen issues with GL292, but don't run that by level group. We also have slightly over 4000 accounts and about 14000 accounting units. We were told by Lawson we are simply too big. Interesting these issues never occurred in 9.0.1. We have resorted to doing a lot of reporting using a GL cube (Dashboard Gear). I can process that cube faster (20 minutes) than I can run a GL95 in many instances. The upgrade has been really disappointing from a GL perspective.

We had performance issues in some RW reports after an update. It was resolved by CTP114311 which is in KB 1881751
