One of our entities has a pay code for On Call pay set up as an hourly rate defined on PR20.4. They are changing the hourly rate and I am looking for options besides simply changing PR20.4. If we change it on PR20.4 and we then have to process a historical time record with this pay code it will calculate using the new rate of pay versus the correct rate of pay that was previously in place. Is there anyway to do an effective date rate change? (For our differentials we use Shift tables but those are defined with the job codes. We do not want to maintain a list of job codes for On Call Pay since it should be paid regardless of what job is attached.) I've considered creating a new On Call pay code to use for this point going forward but then have the challenge of making sure the timekeeping system sends the correct pay code based on what date the time record is for. Any ideas or tips on how you handle this or something similar?
