LS - ladb - how to tell if in single user mode

Can anyone help tell me the lid command to find out if my test server is still in single user mode following a data refresh done by AMS?

I can see the commands to put it in that mode but I can't figure out how to tell what mode it is running in.

I do not have System Console.

Thank you. My theory was wrong.. AMS did a data refresh for us last Monday. since then, all jobs go to Needs Recovery... "Unable to establish a database connection. Encountered error: Unable to open $LAWDIR/system/ladb.log

You should verify that the ladb process is running"

It's been over a week and it's not corrected so I'm trying to figure it out on my own by reading Admin manuals.. thought maybe it was left in single user mode. But it's not..it's in multi.

They have done 2 restarts but have the same outcome when submitting jobs

Did you check your ladb.log file for other error messages and the permissions on the log file itself - just wondering regarding the message that it says it is unable to open the log file. KB 1188073 also mentions this as something to check

I believe "dbmode -m" is for Multi-user mode.

dbmode -p will print the mode... dbmode -m will attempt to change it to multiuser... probably want to run dbmode -p only...

Thanks Gary.. I was looking at that same KB. And when I look at permissions, it shows 'everyone' has read/write. I am also in the Admin group which has full and I also get the error. I'm just puzzled. We (as in my organization) didn't change security on folders.

Also I tried reading the ladb.log earlier but I can't see where it tells me anything...

The last modified was 4/26 and I think that's when they did a restart... there is nothing after this
