Does MSCM Work Perpetual Inventory Environments?

All:

When I'd investigated MSCM in the past, I recall that it was designed to by used in periodic environments (i.e., scanning/automation for an IC81 par cart).

We have perpetual inventories in our OR's. What functionality does MSCM offer for perpetual inventories?

Just a high-level view will suffice...

Yes, it's for par counting, physical inventory (cycle counting), miscellaneous issues (IC21) and receiving and delivery.

How are your perpetuals creating replenishment reqs?

We replenish our perpetual inventories via IC140/PO100 (which creates PO20 documents).

For reference, all IC12 records in our perpetual inventories are set-up as Inventory Tracking = Y, Reorder Policy = FOP, Reorder Document = P, Reorder Point Code = F, Reorder Quantity Code = M, Reorder Point = min, Maximum Order = max, Automatic Purchasing = Y.

I'm not certain what you intended to originally ask. MSCM Par and Cycle is for issuing out stock on hand and conducting counts. It does not generate reorders. It takes the place of IC72 and IC83. It can also do several WH screen functions. Does that help?
