Direct links to Infor ESS

To enhance the user experience for our employees we would like to offer direct links to Infor ESS pages. Currently, if an employee wants to view their paycheck, they click on a link that that brings them to the Infor sign-on page. Once they log-in, the employee would need to know to take these steps:

Click on “Bookmarks”

Hover over “ Self-Service”

Go down the column and hover over “Pay”

Click on Pay Checks

We would like to offer the employee a link that would bring them directly to their Pay Checks (after signing into Infor).

Any suggestions on how to 'bypass' all these steps? thanks!

We are set up just as you describe. There are direct links to Paychecks (and other options) on our intranet. To determine the URL, go to the Admin home page in Portal/Ming.le, select Manage Bookmarks, expand ESS until you get to the option you are interested in, and right click on it to Edit. This will display the URL that, appended to the lawson server name, will launch that particular option. For example, to go directly to Paychecks, the URL is lawsonserver/.../paychecks.htm.

We have the same set up. We added a shortcut directly to paycheck.htm

We added links to all of the frequently accessed bookmarks on the home screen. Paychecks is the first link.

Did you have to do custom coding to put the bookmarks on the home screen? We played with the New Tab feature but found that the session variables (servlet/Profile) are not interpreted properly (ie: <<EMPLOYEE>>) when the bookmarks are rendered in the middle of the screen. We use variables for certain bookmarks building URL's to link to other systems so we had to disable New Tab.

Yes, we customized the /lawson/portal/ess-home.htm file to add our own branding and quick links to the most frequently accessed ESS functions as well as links to other popular employee destinations on our intranet. Anyone with basic HTML skills can set this up.

Are you using Ming.le? As another stated, you can do this on the Ming.le landing page.
