Positive Pay

Hello ---

We are attempting to setup Positive Pay with our bank. I'm struggling with trying to find enough information on the Lawson website/documentation. I did find you can use either AP265 or CB170, but very little detail available. For those of you who are already using Positive Pay, would you care to share information on what you use to generate the file and how you have your jobs setup?

My organization uses its own Lawson screen, a custom COBOL program, to create the Positive Pay file. It was set up and perfected long before I came onboard. Then we use an FTP client to send the file to the bank. We use Ipswitch WS_FTP Professional; FileZilla would work also. The "push" is automated via script; the client in A/P just runs the Positive Pay report, clicks on the desktop icon to send the file, then logs in manually to confirm that the file went through.

We have a custom Cobol program that extracts the data and creates the file in the format that the bank requires. We then FTP the file from our Lawson server to a Globalscape server and there is a push rule on the Globalscape server that sends the file to the bank.

The ftp process is the easy part. :-) Unfortunately we don't have any custom programs.

Is there anyone out there that does use either AP265 or CB170? We can use a script to modify the file once created, but I'd like to understand these two forms and their pros/cons first.

We use a processflow that runs the CB170, builds a csv file (based on specs provided by the bank), and moves the csv file to a network folder so the users can upload it through the bank's customer portal. The processflow is triggered from a button added to CB11.1 (using Design Studio).

We use the CB170 straight up. We got our bank (Wells Fargo) to accept the output from CB170 as is, so we use a processflow to run it nightly and sftp to the bank.

Unfortunately, CB170 isn't in the format that our bank requires and also we have to string the vendor name and all the address fields into a Payee field (total of 100 characters) as well for our bank so we would either have to massively modify the CB170 or create a custom program and a custom program made more sense..

We have a Crystal report to format the appropriate data in the bank format. It runs every night at about 5:15 and is sftp'd to the bank - all automated. We have another report (automated) that is sent to the bank as an attachment with Pos Pay totals. TDBank requires an email with totals for verification.

This is the selection criteria we use:

{CBTRANS.COMPANY} = 1000 and

{CBTRANS.CASH_CODE} = "2105" and

{CBTRANS.BANK_INST_CODE} = "CHK" and

(if {CBTRANS.MAINT_TIME}<171500 then {CBTRANS.MAINT_DATE} = CurrentDate else {CBTRANS.MAINT_DATE} = CurrentDate-1)and

{CBTRANS.ISSUE_BNK_AMT} > 0 and

{CBTRANS.REC_STATUS} in [1,3]

The tables were data is pulled from are: APVENADDR, CBCASHCODE, CBCHECK, CBTRANS
