Landmark/Lawson Environments: How many are enough?

Just wanted to get a sense on how many landmark/lawson environments people have/suggest they have.

We have 4.

2 PRODLINES on separate sets of servers each. 2 PRODLINES on one set of servers.

So in essance we have 3 with one of them with 2 prodlines.

How do you upgrade/test with your server set-up? 

How do you do production development when one or more servers are on different version(s) for upgrade testing?

We had 3 prodlines on 2 sets of servers.

Prod + a DEV/TEST 2 Prodline server and had to add another because we had nowhere to test prodcution issues when we upgraded our Landmark on our 2 Prodline (TEST/DEV) dev server.

Hello Chuck,

I think, by the sounds of it, that we're quite similar to you. Here's what we have:

LSF

1 server - DEV environment (with 1 product line); TEST environment (with 2 product lines)

1 server - PROD environment with 1 product line

Landmark

1 server- DEV environment (dev data area); TEST environment (test and test2 data areas)



- We do all initial loads of CTP's and environment patches onto DEV for initial load and making-sure-things-basically-work testing.

- We then move stuff to TEST where actual user testing occurs. A vast majority of the time, we use the one product line (TEST) but every now and then we've had to use the 2nd product line (TEST2)



We've not run into any issues with 'syncness'. The only issue we have run into is that, for EMSS testing, since the upgrades are done for this application on the environment level, rather than the product line level, this has been a challenge.
