ProcessFlow server in Infor 10

Good morning,

We are still in the planning stages of upgrading from Lawson LSF 9 to Infor LSF 10. We were told that the IPA/ProcessFlow server will no longer be in LSF and we need to have a new Landmark server. Is this correct?

Yes it is true. You will have separate data areas for each application. We have PROD for S3 and LTMPROD for our LTM applications. When you upload a flow you will select the data area that it will run in and it will be uploaded to the Database under that data area. You will want to use Rich Client to schedule it and set it up depending on what the flow does. You might want to ask your Account Manager to schedule a demo on how it all works. It is a lot different than LSF 9. Good luck.

Also, if you have a considerable amount of flows now in v9, you should start thinking about how you want to migrate them when you go to 10. It is a new technology so think about how you want to deal with flow history and archiving from 9 to 10 (we didn't bring any history over and started fresh). Also think about go-live. If you have flows that run 24/7, prepare for how you want to deal with live flow data or if you just want to stop everything and start fresh in 10.

During the upgrade process, you will be able to migrate all of your flows to IPA. Usually this should be ok and a lot of your flows shouldn't need changes or customizations. The one thing to think about when you migrate is if you refer to the process server tables in LOGAN in any of your flows currently. If you do, you should rewrite those references to refer to your new Landmark database and tables. We found that landmark has similar(ish) table and data structures when comparing to Logan tables.

Inbasket has also changed. You should be able to migrate of all your tasks, filters, users, etc. to Process Server (Landmark) but it should be tested and make sure your end users are trained on how the new inbasket works. You can customize the inbasket in 10 so maybe have your installer explain to you on how that works.
