Disable RQC Catalog Search

I am wondering if anyone has found a way to disable the catalog search for RQC users. We want all of our users to use the template or enter specials so that the inventory location and ordering method is accurate.

You can turn off the access on RQ04 Requisition Center Tab.

I am curious why you would lose the search functionality though. The search would indicate the stock items and the Default From location on the RQ01 should point them to your inventory first.

Or IC01, depending on your Requisition Center setup by requester or company.

Thanks, I just found that (not sure why I didn't see it before).

The issues we have with search is that it doesn't give the proper accounting information sometimes and we have 2 inventory locations. The default one is used for safety stock, while we want them to be pulling from our JIT vendor on the second inventory location. It is making it so they're using our safety stock instead.

Can you change the RQ01 to point to the second inventory location.

The accounting information should either come from your GLCAT or from the ITEMMAST. We code all of our items to the account we want charged when we build them. That way, they can be ordered non-stock from RQC or a PAR and always hit the right account.

We have 1 Facility with 7 inventory locations. We are currently upgrading to v10 and have developed a IPA that checks to see if we have an item in one of the stocking locations prior to sending it out as a non-stock.

Do the requesters have IC12s? You can make the JIT vendor/secondary inventory location their primary source on IC12.2

We also have two inventory locations and struggle with how to get the requesters to pull the item from the correct location. I am curious if you would share some more information about your IPA. If the requester enters a requisition and the item is found to be in an inventory location, what happens to the requisition? Is it updated somehow or rejected or??

You might want to report the issue to Infor. We had a problem with RQC Catalog search not finding the PO25.6 not on hold - there was a patch that resolved it.
