MSS Customization for Direct Reports

My HR department would like to remove some of the drill-around options under Manager Self Service - Direct Reports. Has anyone done this and if so, is there a configuration file that needs to be modified? Thanks, Judy

It has been a while but I believe, we did it by securing the tables/fields from the role that control the data. Sometimes that was done in conjunction with HR10/HR09 levels. It is tricky. Good luck.

Another course of action should be to comment out the OBJWIN in HR.or. Remember commenting is better than deleting the lines should you want to recover those lines in the future.

You can customize the drillTOhtml.xsl file located in the $WEBDIR/lawson/webappjs directory on the web server.

Regarding: Another course of action should be to comment out the OBJWIN in HR.or. When I commented out the Supplemental Address drill around in HR.or for the Employee File, that drill around was lost for HR11 also. Any additional thoughts on fixing that?

If you need those drill arounds in HR11 as well you might try redirecting MSS to a different key. MSS uses the key number H07 to link those window objects. For MSS, create a new one say M07 in latools. Label it employee-mss. Duplicate the links you want in HR.or from employee to employee-mss. Replace H07 to M07 in MSS. We did something similar for RQC. Works like a charm. Upfront some work, but, easy maintenance.

Thanks Kelvin. I am attempting to create the new drill around for MSS, but must be missing something: I created the kndef record as MS7 Employee-MSS, the skndef record as MS7, added new OBJWIN information in HR.or filename: EMPLOYEE-MSS(is that right or does it need to be EMPLOYEE), changed H07 to MS7 in the manager.htm file, but cannot get the new drill around to work. I don't really understand how the kndef "MS7" links to the HR.or (is that because of the name of the kndef?) What else am I missing? Thanks, Judy
