Installation of sharepoint on Windows 2012 R2 server

Has anybody encountered any issues installing sharepoint on windows 2012 R2 server? I am trying to install SharePoint 2013 SP1 and the installation finishes with no issues, but in the end the configuration manager, wouldn't come up. It gives a 404 error.

The largest problems that we have had revolve around 2 main areas: 1: The permissions of the Install, Farm and Service accounts. 2: The correct application of servers naming conventions (i.e. IP Addresses or alias and port assignments).



Also, after SharePoint install, we have found it works best to restart the server to start everything fresh and ensure that they "Run Once" install/startup code has been executed.



Also note that, based on your configuration, there may be vague/obscure instructions in the install guide (i.e. "ET Phone Home" instructions) that encourage the user to call Infor Support, Infor Consulting Services, or your contracted installer in order to install the product correctly. Some vendors often do such to discourage unlicensed use of their product (i.e. if you don't have support or install help, you can't get it working). Which is fair, they deserve to get paid for their product.



Beyond that, can you provide more information about your configuration and what you have attempted?
