EDI Schedule

Can anyone provide the schedule they are currently running their EDI jobs on? We are new to Lawson and trying to determine the when we should schedule these jobs for maximum result.

We run ED330 START between 6AM - 6PM. ED501 and 502 runs every hour between those times. We generate our POs (po100 and 120) hourly as well and time the ED501 to be right after the PO jobs. Hope this helps.

Do you run the ED330 STOP job at any point or just the START job?

I was reading through the user guide and it also says to run the MA540 and PO122 after the ED502. Is that also a step you do?

We do not run the stop job with the exception of when we take Lawson down then it is important to stop EDI. Its really up to you. Since we process some of our PO's over the weekend and do processing in the middle of the night it just isn't worth taking EDI down at any point.

I would absolutely recommend running the PO122. We have PO122 update "last cost" PO's to the confirmed price to lower the exception handling by the buyer. MA540 processes 810's. If you plan on processing 810's then you need to run MA540 just as you need MA531 for receipts.

We run ED330 Start and don't stop it unless we are bringing down the system. We run EDI Inbound 3 times a day and EDI Outbound every 30 minutes. PO122 and MA531 are part of the Inbound job and PO120 is part of the Outbound job.. and we run MA126 and MA540 are separate jobs that run daily - M-F

If you process MA531 for receipts and want putaway and delivery tickets you will also need to run the PO140 as a step after the MA531.

ED330 is part of the network refresh nightly. We have the EDI-In running 3 times daily. It's a step job ED502, MA540, MA531, PO122

ED-OUT is a 2 step job, PO120, ED501 - runs every 20 and 50 past the hour from 7:50 am to 6:50 pm. (So every 30 minutes)

We have an IPA that grabs whenever the ED50x jobs complete as "PROBLEM" and email us the log file.

Ok, that makes sense. What if we are pulling the 810's into a third-party imaging system? Would I still need to run the MA540? The file that I need for the third-party is the MA540.csv. Thank you!

If you pull the 810's into an imaging system, is another process invoked to create the invoices in Lawson? If not, then you still want to run the MA540 job in Lawson to create/match the invoices.
