.idx file not being created

I could really use some help - this is really stumping us. We have a cloned program of IC522 that we named BI523. It's been working fine. When IC522 (Lawson program) runs it creates an ISAM file so in the workfile directory you see both the flat file and the corresponding .idx file. The same for our cloned program. This weekend we moved our Lawson applications from AIX to Linux. Now when we run the job - the custom program is no longer creating the .idx file and we can't figure out why. However, the IC522 program is still creating the .idx file. We have a consultant helping us - who wrote the original cloned program - and he is stumped right now as well because all we did was bring the code over from our AIX system to our Linux system and compile it. Has anyone seen anything like this? Thanks in advance.

is the workfile directory the same for both? if not maybe there's a Lunix directory permission preventing write. Or is the work done by the same account? if not maybe security again is preventing write. Maybe make a new clone, don't change a thing, and try to run it as a proof of concept to get the .idx file. just some debugging ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes both the regular file and .idx file go into the same work directory. I tried running the Lawson-delivered IC522 program and am getting the same results. Lawson is stumped as well. This is becoming a big problem because we need to interface item data into our Surginet system... That's a good thought though to try just generating a new clone.

Originally I thought the IC522 program was working correct - but I was mistaken - it is not creating the .idx file either

If you are getting the problem with IC522 as well, check other programs that create similar files. If it's occurring elsewhere, then it's systemic, and you have a bigger problem. If it's just IC522, then someone will have to check the source code. My licensing does not include that screen, so I can't help at all.

It's multiple programs - that's my fear that it's systemic ....
