PUNCHOUT

We have never used Punchout but I would like to try to move in that direction. I would think you start with your prime vendor but I am curious if anyone is using Punchout with Amazon. If you are allowing Amazon-how did restrict access to certain products? Any pros or cons you are willing to share on using Punchout would really be appreciated.

We have Punchout configured for Office Depot, Grainger and Dell. Office Depot is used the most by far. Pros: easy for the end user to shop & guarantee contract pricing and matching in AP is near 100%. the down side to our set up is we don't own EDI so the PO's get emailed to the vendor & the vendor has to enter the order in their system. Adds room for human error & Office Depot isn't too happy about it but they like our business.

We use Punchout for Staples and it works well other than it is slow. We tried Amazon and were able to get the Punchout portion working, but transmitting a Purchase Order was a problem. They don't use EDI. We tried to get Dispatcher working, but it was taking too long and we gave up. We are in the process of upgrading to windows 2012 servers and upgrading from environment 10.0.6 to 10.0.9 and applications 10.0.2 to 10.0.7. We will probably revisit Amazon after the upgrade is complete.
