We have resolved 2 display problems we wanted to be available as soon as possible due to their impact on day-to-day operations for our customers. These programs are SPECIFICALLY FOR FACTS v9.1.1. and will be included in the upcoming FACTS v9.2 release.
DEFECT 592870/KB 1905089: (SMS100 attached to KB) Windows were “walking left” from where they were placed.
DEFECT 597751/KB 1854111: (SMS100 and code compare for SMC898 both attached to KB) This problem only occurred with multiple monitors. When dragging an SMANSR window to an alternate monitor that SMANSR window was no longer reachable (on subsequent passes thru the same FACTS program/function). This was especially problematic when the SMANSR window was requesting input from the end-user. With the SMANSR window not being reachable there was nowhere to enter the proper responses and move on.
With this fix the SMANSR windows will no longer be unreachable.
If your main FACTS window is on your primary monitor 1 and you drag an SMANSR window off to any other monitor the SMANSR window will be displayed on subsequent passes thru the same FACTS program/function, but, in handling the display error, will be relocated to the upper left corner (position 0,0) of that monitor). Multiple SMANSR windows of differing sizes, when multiple SMANSR windows do display, may be ‘stacked’ at the left upper corner.
If your main FACTS windows is on a monitor “other” than your primary monitor 1 and you drag an SMANSR window off to any other monitor the SMANSR window will be displayed (on subsequent passes thru the same FACTS program/function), but, will keep moving across the monitors until it is back on the monitor where your main FACTS window is; If your main FACTS window is on the far left monitor then the SMANSR windows will eventually wind up at the top left (position 0,0) of that far left monitor. If your main FACTS window is on the far right monitor then the SMANSR windows will eventually wind up at the top right (posting X,0) of that far right monitor.
In short, if your main FACTS window is on a monitor “other” than your primary monitor 1 then the SMANSR windows that were dragged onto other monitors will eventually work their way back to the monitor where the main FACTS window is deployed.
While this isn’t a perfect solution neither is it a permanent solution. The goal is to ensure that the SMANSR windows are no longer unreachable by the user - that goal has been met. Further effort is ongoing to reach a permanent solution.
